HOME OF LASSEN COLLEGE ATHLETICS

Despite a narrow 2-1 loss to Butte College on April 12, 2025, the Lassen College baseball team demonstrated impressive resilience and solid pitching throughout the game. Though they struggled to generate runs against Butte’s pitchers, the team’s defense and pitching efforts remained strong, offering plenty of positives moving forward. The game was marked by tight competition, with Lassen’s pitching staff limiting Butte to just two runs and seven hits over nine innings.

Lassen’s pitching trio of Daniel Aceto, Emmanuel Frias, and Luke Morgan put together a solid performance, allowing just two runs. Aceto took the loss after going 2.2 innings and giving up two earned runs, but his effort was supported by Frias and Morgan, who combined for 5.1 scoreless innings. Morgan stood out with his four innings of two-hit ball, showcasing his ability to keep Butte’s bats in check and give his team a chance to mount a comeback.

At the plate, Lassen’s offense faced tough pitching from Butte’s Jordan Riley and Jacob Cullen, who combined for eight scoreless innings. Ethan Beede provided the lone run for Lassen with an RBI single in the top of the ninth, cutting the lead to 2-1. Despite strong at-bats from several players, including Jack Zimmerman and Eli Hernandez, who each had a hit, Lassen struggled to capitalize on their opportunities, leaving six runners on base.
