Lassen Falls to Feather River 10-4 in Conference Clash
In a high-scoring battle on April 18, 2025, the Lassen College baseball team fell to Feather River 10-4 despite a strong effort at the plate. Lassen had early chances but struggled to capitalize as Feather River’s offense surged, especially in the middle innings. Lassen pitcher Kyson Goates took the loss, allowing six runs in 3.1 innings, while the Cougars' offense couldn’t find consistency against Feather River's pitching staff.
The Cougars did manage to keep things competitive with key contributions from Brock Bunker and Eli Hernandez. Bunker drove in a run with a pair of hits, and Hernandez knocked in another. Rominic Quiban added two hits, and freshman Lucas Geisler came off the bench to drive in a run, but the offensive production was not enough to keep up with Feather River's powerful attack. Lassen’s batters recorded seven hits, but costly fielding mistakes and missed opportunities held them back.
Feather River capitalized on Lassen's pitching mistakes, scoring in five of the first six innings. Dylan Marx’s three-hit performance, including two RBIs, was pivotal, as he and Nick Anderson led the charge in Feather River's early offensive surge. The highlight for Feather River came in the fourth inning, where they posted five runs to take control of the game. Their pitcher, Tanner Hail, delivered a stellar outing, allowing just one earned run in seven innings, earning the win in the process.
Despite the loss, Lassen remains a competitive force in the conference. Their ability to generate offense against a strong Feather River team shows promise as they continue to build chemistry and improve.
