Lassen Powers Past Redwoods in 13-6 Victory

Lassen College used a combination of power hitting and dominant pitching to take down Redwoods 13-6 on March 29. The Cougars collected 15 hits, including home runs from Kylan Kono, Mitchell Basterrechea, and Ethan Beede. Beede led the offensive charge with six RBIs, while Rominic Quiban added three hits and two stolen bases. Lassen took control early, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding to their lead throughout the game.

Redwoods struck first with two runs in the opening frame, but Lassen responded immediately. A three-run home run by Beede in the third inning extended the Cougars' lead to 7-3, and they continued to apply pressure with multi-run innings in the fourth, fifth, and sixth. Jackson Rosenthal and Kono each contributed key doubles to keep the rally going.

On the mound, Luke Morgan delivered a stellar performance, going seven innings while allowing just two earned runs and striking out nine. He kept Redwoods' offense in check before turning it over to Daniel Aceto and Matt Henry to close out the final two frames. Redwoods managed a three-run eighth inning to cut into the deficit, but Henry shut the door in the ninth.

Lassen's offensive firepower and strong pitching performance helped them secure another conference victory. With this win, the Cougars continue to gain momentum as they push deeper into the season, showing their ability to dominate both at the plate and on the mound.
