Lassen College Shuts Out Shasta in Dominant 11-0 Victory

The Lassen College baseball team delivered an impressive all-around performance, shutting out Shasta College 11-0 on April 4. The Cougars controlled the game from start to finish, scoring in five of the first six innings while holding Shasta to just three hits. Lassen's offense was led by Rominic Quiban, who went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs, while Kylan Kono added four hits and scored three times.

Pitching was equally dominant for Lassen, as starter Luke Morgan earned the win with seven scoreless innings, allowing only three hits and striking out seven. Reliever Noah Kimura closed out the game with two perfect innings, striking out five. Shasta struggled to generate any offensive momentum, as twelve of their batters went down on strikes.

The scoring began early for Lassen, with runs in each of the first four innings to build a steady lead. A six-run outburst in the sixth inning put the game completely out of reach, highlighted by Quiban's three-run homer. Jack Zimmerman and Jackson Rosenthal also contributed key RBIs to keep the pressure on Shasta's pitching staff, which surrendered 15 hits and seven walks.

With the win, Lassen showcased its strength in all facets of the game, improving their record while keeping their opponents scoreless. Shasta will look to regroup after being held without a run or extra-base hit. The Cougars will aim to carry their momentum into their next matchup as they continue their season.
