Donald Wanner, another one of Coach Avilla’s former players, is back for his second stint as an assistant coach. He will work with pitchers and catchers.

After graduating from Pershing High School in Lovelock, Nevada, Wanner attended Lassen College where he was a relief pitcher in his first year and a starter his sophomore year. After Lassen, Wanner accepted a baseball scholarship to the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. In his junior year, he was a starting pitcher before transferring to Missouri Western for his senior year. In 2017-18, Wanner played professional baseball in the United Shore Professional Baseball League.
