John Deal is entering his 31st year as an assistant coach at Lassen Community College. During Deal’s tenure, he has worked for five head coaches, was on staff for 11 conference championships, two trips to the CCCAA Final Four, and is directly responsible for turning hundreds of boys into men.

This April, Deal will celebrate his 53rd wedding anniversary to the former, Miss Peggy Baker. The Deal's have three children, Michael John, Lisa Marie, and Paulette Mae.

Deal recently retired after 43 years as a journeyman lineman with Lassen Municipal Utility District and is experiencing his third year as a “full-time” baseball coach.
