Lassen Battles Together for Thrilling Home Victory Over Redwoods

Lassen College bounced back with a gritty 71-66 win over Redwoods on January 25 in Susanville. The Cougars held a slim 32-29 halftime lead and stayed composed in the second half to fend off Redwoods’ strong offensive push. Jaydin Morin-Bishop stole the show, delivering a dominant performance with 29 points on 13-of-27 shooting while grabbing six rebounds and tallying four steals. Brady Cooper was clutch at the free-throw line, sinking 8 of 10 attempts to contribute 12 points and five rebounds. Sterling Rivera chipped in with 10 points, four rebounds, and four steals, showcasing his tenacity on both ends of the floor.

Lassen’s defensive intensity and rebounding were key to their victory, as they outworked Redwoods on the glass with 38 total rebounds, including nine offensive boards. Despite shooting struggles from beyond the arc (27.8%), the Cougars’ persistence at the free-throw line and balanced scoring sealed the win. The home crowd in Susanville gave the team a boost, propelling them to a much-needed victory. Lassen fans can celebrate their team’s resilience and look forward to more electrifying performances as the season progresses!
