Cougs record draw against Lake Tahoe

It was a battle of goalies for the Cougars (7-5-1) and host Lake Tahoe Community College last Friday that ended in a 0-0 draw.

As the match began, the Coyotes came out with great energy and enthusiasm to move the ball forward and create goal scoring opportunities. Lake Tahoe would go on to strike the crossbar twice in the first half and force Lassen goalkeeper Cristobal Romero to make crucial saves that kept the Cougars in the match.

The second half began as a scoreless draw with neither team being able to break the deadlock in the first half.

Lassen came out with great energy and intensity in an effort to break the stalemate. They dominated possession and generated several promising goal scoring opportunities. As the match drew to a close, both teams pressed forward in efforts of obtaining a winning goal. After a hard fought second half from both sides, the game finished as a 0-0 result.

"Today was a testing and trying match for our team," said Head Coach Alex Machin. "We showed a lot of character and heart throughout the match, particularly in the second half by not giving up and pushing for the win."

The Cougars will host Butte College at noon tomorrow, October, 19.
