Lassen defeated by Feather River

The Lassen men's soccer team lost in a 4-1 defeat against conference foe, Feather River in Quincy on October 28.

As the match began, the Golden Eagles of Feather River came out with great energy and eagerness to move the ball forward and create goal scoring opportunities. After a strong defensive effort by Lassen, the Eagles broke the deadlock in the 15th minute by capitalizing on a wonderfully timed cross from their outside back that enabled the Eagles to take a one goal lead.

The Cougars fought diligently in the first half, but fell victim to three feather rivers goals which sent the game into the second half with a score line of 3-0.

As the second half began, Lassen came out with an organized and collected attack in an effort to regain control over the match. They were rewarded with a goal in the 80th minute scored by Matias Montero, assisted by Marcos Paiz.

Lassen fought hard until the final whistle, but fell short in their efforts.

"The lads fought hard today against a very talented and well-coached Feather River side" stated Head Coach Alex Machin. "We were faced with a difficult and talented team today and their experience as a program was shown. Now, we need to regroup and fight for a win against Redwoods."

The Cougars will face College of the Redwoods in Eureka on Tuesday November 2 at noon.
