Cougar grapplers open at Sac, but tourney cut short

The Lassen College wrestling team opened their season at the Sac City Invitational on Saturday.

The tournament was abbreviated and then cut short due to some Covid issues relating to the officials and hosts running the tournament. When the tournament was halted, Scott Coleman (165), Ryan Vite (141) and Isaiah Franco (133) were competing for third place.

"We have a very young team with some kids who have minimal time on the mat. We have only one returning sophomore from the 2019 season. This will be a very challenging year for us," said Head Coach Tom Rogers.

The Cougars travel this weekend to Lemoore to participate in the West Hills Tri-Meet Dual and tournament.
