Lassen has a rough outing versus Butte

Lassen College Softball hosted Butte College on Friday, March 24. In game 1, the Lady Cougars fell to Butte 25-3. Lassen fell into an early 16-0 hole after the first inning. Unfortunately, that would be all Butte needed as the Lady Cougars struggled on offense and defense. Reno native Bri Wheelen started for the Cougars, going two-thirds, giving up 13 runs, ten hits, two walks, and striking out none. Michaelyn Shirley would finish the game in the circle for the Cougars, pitching five and third innings, giving up 13 runs, 17 hits, and striking out one.  Sophomore Bree Lopex led the Cougar offense with two hits. Raegan Brown, Allison Deaton, and Julie Polanco all had a hit for the Lady Cougars.

“We need to limit the errors and play hard,” head Coach Colby Chavez said.

The Lady Cougars are 3-16.
