Cougars drop series to Feather

Lassen would look to salvage the weekend in game two of the doubleheader. Unfortunately, the Cougars would lose to Feather River 16-1.  

Reno native Bri Wheelen got the start in the circle for the Lady Cougars. Wheelen pitched five innings, giving up 11 earned runs, 16 hits, one walk, and striking out none. Freshmen Allison Deaton and Harley McLaughlin tried to light a spark on offense for the Lady Cougars with a two-hit game each. Bree Lopez and Julie Polanco would also contribute to the hit category with one hit each.  

“I thought we responded well in the first inning fighting hard, but then I feel like we gave up,” said head Coach Colby Chavez.  

The Lady Cougars are 3-19. 

Lassen will look to rebound as they travel to Butte College on Wednesday, April 5 for a doubleheader.
