Cougars' toughness shows in season finale

In game two of the doubleheader, Lassen would look to end the year strong by getting in the win column. Unfortunately, the short-handed Cougars, who were beaten up from the long season, just couldn’t overcome a couple of injuries and would lose the final game of the season 14-0.

Alturas native Allison Deaton got the start in the circle for the Lady Cougars. Deaton pitched five innings, giving up nine earned runs, 13 hits, six walks, and striking out none. Sophomore Raegan Brown would get the only hit of the game for the Cougars. Brown would end her career at Lassen on a high note with one last hit in her Cougar uniform.

“We had to maneuver around some injuries, and some girls really stepped and showed some heart by playing positions they hadn’t played all year. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a win,” said Head Coach Colby Chavez.

The Lady Cougars ended their season with a final record of 6-30.
