Year 3 Under Coach Turpin: Veteran Core and Impact Roster Set the Tone for a Breakout Season
As Coach Turpin enters her third year at the helm, expectations are running high for a breakout season. With seven returning players and a strong incoming class, the team is looking more balanced, experienced, and competitive.
Leading the charge is Mallory Thompson, a standout talent and 2025 GVC All-Freshman Team nominee. Known for her relentless work ethic, Thompson is expected to anchor both ends of the floor. Alongside her are returning sophomores Miliani Crosno, Nisa Rodriguez, and Leah Ragan, all of whom made their mark in their first year and are primed for a big leap this season.
Also back in the mix are Alizah Lara, Claudia Garcia, and Jasmine Graciano — second-year players who’ve shown significant growth in the offseason and are ready to make immediate contributions. Their familiarity with the system and chemistry with returning teammates bring valuable depth and continuity to a team that’s hungry for success this season.
This year's freshman class may be new to the program, but they arrive with veteran poise. Meiyah Oats, Rihana Fontenot, and Rachel Ply each bring high-level experience and are projected to play key roles early in the season. Their college-ready approach has already made waves in preseason practices.
Adding even more firepower to the roster are true freshmen Kyleigh Flux, Kiana Rodriguez, and Ivy Rodriguez — a trio loaded with scoring ability and tenacity. Their presence not only boosts the team’s depth but also raises the competitive standard in every practice.
With a blend of proven returners, poised sophomores, and a dynamic freshman class, Coach Turpin has built a roster with the tools to contend. The foundation is set. The experience is in place. And this season, the team isn’t just aiming to compete — they’re ready to make noise.
