Grace Felton continues her dominance in breakaway, lifting Lassen to 2nd place

The Lady Cougars hosted nine teams, including four NCAA teams, at their fall rodeo on Oct. 9-10 at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. Lassen, led by sophomore Grace Felton, finished second behind Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo.

Cuesta College, Fresno State and Feather River College closed out the top five. West Hills College, UNLV, Hartnell College and Allen Hancock also completed.

Felton won both rounds of the breakaway taking the average title with ease. Lexi Carter also overcame a sprained ankle from the FRC rodeo to place 11th in breakaway roping, and 12th in the barrel racing event.

"Our home rodeo is the hardest one of the year not only do my students have to compete but we lean on them a bunch to manage and execute a successful rodeo," said Head Coach Suzanne Williams. "I am so proud of the group I have I couldn't have done it without them."

The Lady Cougars close out their fall season Nov. 5-6 in Coarsegold, CA at the West Coast Region Rodeo.
