Lady Cougars Tie Chabot and Build Confidence with Young Team
On September 12, the Lady Cougars tied 1-1 in a highly artistic soccer frenzy at Chabot College's home turf. The mission was to validate the system of play and cultivate a winning mindset among players. The team played with more confidence, facilitating transitioning from the defense to attack, and defended with conviction.
When Chabot scored at the 34th minute, the Cougars pressed hard with several shots on target but could not get a goal during the first half. The Cougars, however, responded during the second half with high ball possession and finally scored about seven minutes to the end of the game.
"We refused to be soft at the defense, this time and made it clear that winning was not an option," said Coach Jude Niba. Niba added, "The team's performance is improving exponentially while staying injury free."
