Yuba Tops Lady Cougars in Heated Contest

The Lady Cougars continued their pre-conference journey on September 4 against Yuba College in a frenzy further south away from home. Yuba College, however, hosted the girls on a 3-G turf pitch with temperatures in the mid-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Competing under these conditions unfavorably affected players' their performance, causing the team to submit to a 4-2 loss.

The mission was to test their much more polished system and getting players into positions where they could perform optimally.

Notwithstanding, the Lady Cougars scored first at the eleventh minute by striker Samantha Beasley and played much more cohesively throughout the first half. During the second half, fatigue became salient as the Cougars embarked on injury management until the end.

"We have tested with success resilience, collective efficacy, and establish a competitive mindset," said the Head Coach Dr. Jude A. Niba. "However, we must fortify our defense to reduce or completely eliminate high score margins."
