Lady Cougars Suffer Injuries During Trip to Foothill College

Lassen embarked on another away leg against Foothill College September 14, 2018. Midway to their destination the team was involved in a vehicle collision and five Lady Cougars and Coach Jude Niba incurred minor injuries. As a consequence, succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at Los Altos.

Before the game started, two players failed the concussion test offered by the Foothill trainers, exempting them from participating in the frenzy. The first half was, however, fierce as the resilient Cougar ladies held their ground on a 0-0 tie, despite adversity. During halftime, three more players complained of concussion and contusion symptoms, disqualifying them from continuing the game.

Despite several goal attempts, the Lady Cougars could not concretize their chances. With no substitutes on the bench, the team could not withstand the force of 20 Foothill players and incurred 2 goals.

"It was a tough day for our team," said Coach Niba, "However we shall treat our injuries, train harder and continue with the pre-season journey with vigor."
