Feather River Shuts Out Visiting Cougars

Lassen fell short of securing a victory at Feather River College on September 28, dropping the contest 2-0. Despite a strong fight to rival Feather River's athleticism, the Lady Cougars were unable to equalize after the Lady Eagles scored two early goals.

During the first half, Lassen received two early goals before gaining momentum to even out play and implement their game plan. The team then engaged in a 5-4-1 system giving midfielders and four defenders the ability to control the midfield and cutting off passing lanes.

During the second half, the Lady Cougars with only one substitute on the bench maintained their defensive playing style and managed the game up to the end. However, during the last quarter, the team missed a golden opportunity, as striker Brittany Anderson beat the goalkeeper but was cleared off on the goal line by Feather River's recovering defender.

"We had a twelve-person squad because of injuries," said Head Coach Jude Niba. "We are playing better and will see better results once we get our fitness right."
