Lady Cougars Fight Back to Tie Redwoods 2-2

Last Friday, the Lady Cougars finished with an away leg 2-2 tie against College of the Redwoods. After a 2-0 lead all through the first half, the Lady Cougars squeezed a draw through a goal by Midfielder Xiana Pang-Abas (FR/Oahu,HI) as well as a fantastic 40-yard drive by attacking midfielder Caoimhe Walker (FR/Belfast,Ireland).

Redwoods also put on a good fight to maintain their 2-0 lead after the goalkeeper was expulsed for stopping Brittany Anderson (FR/Ulladulla,Australia)'s shot on goal with the hands while outside the 20-meter box. They struggled with 10 players for over 60 minutes and finally submitted to Lassen's attacking pressure.

"This was a must win a game for us," said Head Coach Jude Niba. "It will boost morale and resolve some internal conflicts. Notwithstanding, we are looking forward to a streak of wins in the upcoming game."
