Lassen Adjusts to Pressure Defense to Tie Shasta 3-3

Yesterday, the Lady Cougars tied 3-3 at home against a historical rival Shasta. After encountering a goal late in the first half, the Cougars reorganized their playing style, seized momentum and mounted pressure upon their opponents but did not score.

Lassen mounted a second-half comeback packed with high momentum and got an early goal by striker Brittany Anderson through a great pass from midfielder Xiana-Pang-Abas. After a few minutes, Shasta responded with another goal, putting them up on a 2-1 lead.

Lassen embarked on a low pressure game plan, pulling their opponents high up the pitch to create counterattacking opportunities. As a result, the Cougars scored two goals putting them on a 3-2 lead. The first goal was a counter-attack that led to a cross by Anderson and a clean finish by Pang-Abas. The second goal by Anderson came as a result of a give-away due to high pressure on Shasta's defense.

"I am impressed with my team's ability to change game plans and adjust to the pressure of their opponents," said Head Coach Jude Niba. "However, we still need to enhance confidence and trust the training process".
