Bio

Amy Morris is in her second year of her second stint at Lassen, after previously holding the position in 2013 and 2014. Her 2014 team finished the season 19-7 and concluded play with a state playoff match. She has spent her time since at Northern Nevada Juniors in Reno, NV as the Associate Director of Youth Sports and Recruiting Coordinator.

Prior to Lassen, Morris spent the 2012 season as the assistant coach at University of Nevada. She came to Nevada after three years at Tulane University, where she was the head coach of the sand volleyball team and associate head coach with the indoor squad. Morris was an assistant for the Tulane squad that qualified for the 2009 NCAATournament. Her 2010 recruiting class was nationally recognized and included the Conference USA Freshman of the Year.
Morris has also coached at Binghamton University, Nicholls State University and College of the Southwest. Collegiately she played at the University of Tennessee where she helped the Lady Vols to the NCAATournament as a junior and senior. In 2004 she was named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year, first-team All-SEC and honorable mention AVCAAll-America. She earned MVP honors at the 2004 SECTournament after helping Tennessee to the title. The 2004 Lady Vols won the regional championship before falling in the national semifinals.

Morris was a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. As a prep athlete she earned All-America honors and was named the 2001 Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year and to the Volleyball Magazine Fab 50.
The Michigan City, Ind. native attended Penn State following an outstanding high school career at Michigan City High School before transferring to Tennessee. After her career at Tennessee, she played professional volleyball in Indonesia and Puerto Rico.
She completed her bachelor’s degree in advertising from Tennessee in 2006 and earned a master’s degree in sports management from SUNY-Cortland in 2009.
