Bio

Lonnie Nalls was an all-state high school wrestler in Illinois. He placed second his senior year in 1984, before entering Lincoln College where he became a NJCAA National Champion as a freshman. He then transferred to Triton College following his Coach Rex Branum, where he finished the season as a runner up in the NJCAA finals. After completing his Junior College career, he was a 1 year starter at the University of Illinois before ending his career due to personal issues in 1986. Lonnie then became the Head Assistant Coach at Lassen College in 1994, where he helped the Cougars win four NJCAA National Titles and five top three finishes. During his tenure, Coach Nalls assisted more than 50 wrestlers successfully move on to all levels of the sport. He was instrumental in establishing a 98% graduation rate for student athletes who fully participated and completed the program.

Coach Nalls is a member of the NJCAA Hall of Fame and has been active in the sport. He has been the Head Wrestling Coach at high schools in California and Oregon as well as an assistant football and track coach.

Lonnie met his wife, Amber, of 23 years while coaching at Lassen. They have four children: Victoria, Jade, Alonzo II and Alonna. Nalls has dedicated his life to working with at risk youth. He has always had a passion for athletics and the importance of building the traits that help them become productive people in society.
